The River Leven overflows from Lake Windermere in the English Lake District, and runs a four mile course to the sands of Morecambe Bay. Along this beautiful short stretch of river, industries ranging from bobbin mills to besom broom makers have existed for centuries, all drawn to the area by its abundant water power.
